Slate / Granite and Basalt:

This metamorphic stone has a sheet-like structure. It is composed of clay and fine grained shale that has settled in to layers under extreme temperature and pressure. This creates the characteristic parting and grain, normally found in grays and greens.

SLATE flooring provides such a classic style and it looks good in either a traditional or contemporary setting. There are copies available in tiled form but really for your money there is still nothing on the market that competes with real slate.

GRANITE is known for its strength and durability, was always seen as a symbol of wealth due to the depth of colour. A very consistent stone and has a wide spectrum of colours.

BASALT is a very strong, high-density lava stone, normally in black, sometimes in sage green. Strong resistance to wear.
